Many have said I should write a book. Or at least store these random thoughts somewhere. So here they are.

February 3

Today, February 3, is National Wear Red Day, an observance aimed at raising heart disease awareness. Heart disease remains the number one killer of American women. In fact, many women are surprised to learn that heart disease claims the lives of more women than breast cancer. Specifically, one in three American women will die of heart disease. Risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hormone replacement, smoking, type 2 diabetes, and physical inactivity.

Why do I bring this to your attention?
Mom has had her 5 year anniversary of her heart transplant. And her latest annual appointment yielded AMAZING numbers, like cholesterol of 130..... and an ejection fraction of 75%. (Before her transplant she was 13% to give you some perspective.) I remain so very very proud of her.
